Keep your inbox clean by automatically filtering warmup emails in Gmail and Google Workspace

When email warming is active, you'll receive warmup emails in your inbox. While these emails are essential for building your sender reputation, they can clutter your primary inbox.
Setting up a filter keeps your inbox clean while ensuring warmup emails are never marked as spam, which would hurt your deliverability.
In your Gmail inbox, click the gear icon in the top right corner.
Select "See all settings" from the dropdown menu.
Click on the "Filters and Blocked Addresses" tab at the top of the settings page.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Create a new filter".
The Filters tab is usually the 4th or 5th tab from the left, between "Accounts" and "Forwarding".
In the filter creation dialog, locate the "Has the words" field.
Enter the warmup tag exactly as shown below:
[WARMUP-Leave all other fields empty and click "Create filter".
On the next screen, select the following options:
Click "Create filter" to save your new filter.
Your filter is now active! Warmup emails will automatically:
Pro Tip: You can access your warmup emails anytime by searching for [WARMUP- or clicking the "Warmup" label in your sidebar.
If you're using Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), the process is identical. Just make sure you're logged into the correct account before creating the filter.
Workspace admins can also create organization-wide filters, but individual filters work perfectly for email warming purposes.
Make sure you entered the tag exactly as shown, including the brackets. The filter is case-sensitive.
Check if you selected "Also apply filter to matching conversations" to catch existing emails. New emails should be filtered automatically.
Go to Settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses, find the filter, and click "edit" to make changes.
